Foggy and Dotty

What to do on a foggy day.
The view from my front door.
Today was a perfect day to rearrange my favorite cupboard in my kitchen.
A glass cupboard should be filled with fun things to look at.
My polka dot dishes have a new home.

I am missing the red mixing bowl to complete my set.
They belonged to my mother in law and she gave them to me.
I would love find it. I will check on ebay I am sure I can find one there .You really
can't look at this spot and not smile.

Baby Shower cuteness.

Attended a bridal shower for my daughter in law on Saturday.  Just wanted to share a few photos of the decorations.  They were way beyond cute.  The baby nursery colors are yellow and gray.  ADORABLE.
The yellow and gray theme.

The ball jars and tags and yellow and gray straws.  Can you even stand it.

The antique baby pram.  What a cute prop.  These girls are so creative.

More cute yellow food and table.  Jars fill with yellow candy dipped marshmallows, dipped pretzels, gold fish crackers.
Petite lemon cupcakes and cookies.  Even deviled eggs.

All the cute baby stuff.

The banner across the windows....a cute thing indeed.

Party favors at the door.  Lemon drops attached with a tag that said Thanks for dropping by.

Hung all around the house was this garland made from paper circles and sewn together.  O so cute.

A shot of the pretty house.

Here is the little mama herself.  We will welcome this little bundle in March.
Can't wait.

Another food table filled with goodies.

Someone call a Dr. I'm seeing spots.

Call. me. DOTTY.
Should I be on Hoarders?
Or should I take in boarders?
To use all these dishes,
Is my husbands wishes.
You have too much spotty stuff,
No, I have just enough,
I love each one,
They are so much fun.
 OK.  I'm done.

All is C.A.L.M.

Took  Micah to our "zoo".  CAlifornia Living Museum a.k.a. CALM.
At the entrance ready to go forge for wildlife. We had to bring night bear along to enjoy it with us.

We saw all the above, except tortoises, because Micah informed me that he doesn't like turtles.

Right through this big red barn door lives our new best friend... THE GOAT.

I actually thought they were going to jump over the fence.  He loved to feed them.

But this guy became our favorite. If a goat could be cute, he certainly had cute potential.

He (or she) and Micah became fast friends.

SEE, I told you it was cute.

They both were smitten with each other.  He was sad when we had to leave, (the goat was too)

We packed a peanut butter and jelly picnic and headed to the park.

Take my picture gramma.  Ummm like I have to asked to do that

Chances are when you have a picnic BUGS will  come.  A big box of bugs a souvenier from the living museum.  A great day was had by all, especially the goat.

LOTS of bugs.

Practice what I preach.

Seeing this reminder every morning when I enter the kitchen can be a challenge.  Notice the Jury Duty paper posted next to the message?????
Being thankful is a CHOICE.

Then I look at this cute little guy and I am reminded yet again, how much I have to be thankful for.

Every... Single.. Day.

If you give a girl a lemon.

Chances are she is going to want to bake something lemon-y.  Such was the case when I was given 20 lemons.  Seeing the lemons reminded me that I had this Luscious Lemon Desserts book. I unearthed my lemon zester and lemon juicer from my utensel drawer and start grated and squeezing and squirting lemon juice.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves lemon. I was tempted to make this tart, but could not locate my tart pan, not even sure I have a tart pan.

I used lots of eggs.

Lots of lemons

Lots of butter   Y'ALL..  Seeing this much butter brings out the Paula Deen in me.

The star of the show.  If you don't own a zester, run to your nearest Target and get one.I use it for grating parmesan cheese and oranges and even garlic.

Look at these beauties.  Lemon Bars.

Yes, I did endulge,  can I just say  Mmmmmmm.  delicious.

Lemon bread,  this is lemon-y goodness times 7.
So, when life hands you sour lemons,
turn them into something sweet.

My New Years Eve.

We spent a few days in Cayucos with good friends.  We talked about good times in the past years, we talked about our children and grand children.  We shared with each other God's blessings in our lives, and we welcomed in the new year.  2012. WOW.  I am blessed to have these dear friends in my life.
We stayed in this great place

This is the view.

Carol took a little nap so that she could party with us.

Played and partied with these fun folks.

Played the golf card game  for----ev---ah.

HAPPY NEW YEAR  2012. May God's blessings be upon you.
