A thank you note from my grandson.

The best thank you note ever.

This still brings a smile to my face.
I LOVE his honesty, because really, what 5 year old boy is ever
thankful for clothes?

Christmas cuteness.

Seeing Christmas through the eyes of granchildren is such a joy.  I had the blessing of doing just that.
We have a new one to share it with this year, so our joy was doubled.  Such precious memories that I will cherish.  Here are just a few of the 90 photos I took.

LIGHTS....

Spent the evening with good friends wandering around looking at lights.
Holiday lights at CALM.
I have been here many times and I am like a child seeing it for the first time.
So pretty and Christmas-y.  It definately puts me in the holiday spirit.

Pretzels, glitter and a 5 year old.

These are the supplies

Hard at work cutting.

We may have eatten a few pretzels...

Here we are being silly.

Me and my sweet Micah.

Our completed project.
Micah and I decided to make a new ornament for my tree.  It was a project that required patience, pretzels and glitter and scissors and glue.  All of which we had an abundance of, except the patience part.  It took longer than I thought it would and a 5 year old lost interest after about 30 minutes.  We took and break, ate a few pretzel and finished the project.  I love it and it hangs proudly on my tree.

Merry Christmas to all.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a savior which is Christ the Lord.

Wishing you all a blessed, joyous Christmas day.

O Christmas tree

Busy doing last minute Christmas around here.  Let's all remember to breath and remember what the real meaning of Christmas is.

Such sadness.

I volunteer in a first grade class one day a week.  As I parked my car and waited to cross the street I watched parents walked their kids to class, holding hands and many kissed them goodbye.  The class I help in were having their Christmas program today in the cafeteria.  I had not yet heard of the terrible events that were unfolding in Connecticut until I got home and my son told me.  A sick feeling swept over me and immediately thought about those parents who that very morning walked their kids to school holding their hands and kissing them goodbye, not knowing that would be their last time.  I am not a real political person, but I somehow don't think the right bear arms means that someone can aim a semi automatic weapon at children.  I also know that situations like this are "heart" issues and usually carried out by disturbed, unstable people, but the end result is no less tragic.  We must certainly pray for the parents of those children as they grieve the loss of their precious babies.

I LOVE this.

Found this cutie while searching Pinterest.  I collected all the stuff needed and this will be my next project, well, right after I finish Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts, holiday baking for a cookie exchange, planning my Christmas lunch menu.   .

What to do.

Apparently I have used up my quota of photos in my current blog space.  Picasa notified my of this.  My dilema is should I pay a montly fee of $2.95 to be able to post photos?  Is is possible to close this one down and open a new blog?  Should I quit blogging all together?  Any advice?  I really have adorable grandchildren and thousands of photos that really need posting.  Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I did.

My thoughts on Thanksgiving.

This thanksgiving I am thankful:
That God chose me before the foundation of the world.
That seals me as a child of God.
I can walk in a relationship with Him.
I am firmly rooted, nourished in the truth.
   Built up in Him.
   Established in my faith.
So that NO ONE can take me captive.
   His unconditional love.

I am thankful for...

My sister had an early thanksgiving dinner with some of my family. Each one was giving a paper feather to write what they were thankful for and add it to the turkey.

This turkey shares all the many reasons that our family is thankful.
We should all count our many blessings.

Saturday morning.

Some friends came over for breakfast on the patio.  The weather was perfect. Cool, crisp, sunny. The boys stayed and chatted while the girls went on a spur of the moment junk store shopping trip. What a great Saturday

Great conversation and great food and great friends.

And as always... a bossy cow...."Nothin to see here, moooooove along.

My finds at the flea.

Hubby has been searchiing for wagon wheel for the back yard..He scored this one on the cheap!

I passed this table 3 times on Saturday.  I even made my sister go and talk to the lady to see if she would take a lower price.  She did come down 15 dollars on her asking price.  Sadly, I walked away.  I did however go back on Sunday and it was still there.   It came home with me.  YIPPPEEE.

My sister and I both bought old window screens.  I have big plans for the cutie.

I loved the color of this frame.  I will remove the flower picture and place a family photo in it.

These 2 little lamps were a bargain.

OH the cute vintage ornaments.  I wanted to buy them all and had the most difficult time choosing the ones that I wanted. I love them all so much.   NO, I did not buy any pedal cars.  So, there you go, My vintage finds.    The funny part came when we had to load all this stuff up in my car.  I don't know why we didn't drive my husbands truck.  My car has a car seat in the back seat.  After much rearranging and a HUGH trunk we were able to fit everything in. I think I did have to straddle the wagon wheel, but hey...all made it home safely.

Old Time Peddlers Fair

I spent last Saturday shopping at our local peddlers faire.  It was vintage heaven.  A yearly event that my sister and brother in law attend and this year did not dissapoint.  We both came away with treasures that we just could not live without.  Here a few pictures of the cute stuff.

Ready to go in.

I fell madly in love with this pedal plane.  Would be perfect for my grandlittles.

Who doesn't love these vintage cake keeper and the yellow chair,  please!!

Cute John Deere tractor...come to mama.

The vintage puzzles I loved. Her prices were way too high.

Look at the old house.  I want to live there.

This place had the cutest stuff.  It is owned by my old neighbor.

General Store....way cute.  I love her stuff , too.

Table of Shiny Brites..

Pedal care taxi... Love, love, love.

SHE'S HERE...

On MY front entryway.  The RED chair that I coveted so much (forgive me Lord) has arrived.
Right where she belongs.  In all her beat-up-ness beauty.  She arrived Saturday morning early.  After 3 long months of waiting and groveling and begging and whining and trading of stuff.  I love it.  Thanks sister for your kindness and generosity.  I will think of you when I sit in it.

My happy place.

Some people say that Disneyland is the happiest place on earth.  I have to disagree.  This pumpkin place does it for me.  It really is one of the most charming, prettiest places around.  It is about 10 miles from my house and starting in mid September I start counting the days until it opens.  I think I could go there everyday.  Walking around the grounds and taking in the beauty just makes me feel all happy.  Just. plain. happy.  So I call it my happy place.  I hope you find this much happiness in a pumpkin patch in your neighborhood.
A corn maze and rows of sunflowers.

I'm as happy as a pig taking a nap in mud.  He really is happy.

This is me being happy.

Pumpkin lined pathways

A footbridge across a lake.

Wagons full of pumpkins and goards.

WHITE pumpkins all gathered together in a bunch.

Seriously, if looking at this doesn't make you happy then you are anti-fall.
