A little "pick" me up

The sister and I had the opportunity to do a bit'o'pickin this weekend. We hit some antique stores at the central coast. We started in Hanford, now I know that Hanford is NOT on the central coast but it has so many cute shops.

Let the picking commence.

I cannot believe I forgot to go back and get this cute laundry cart. I guess I was JUNK DRUNK.

I so wanted this turquoise wicker chair and the red step ladder..Who wouldn't?

And this little ensemble would look so adorable on my front porch. You don't know how difficult it was to walk away from this.

I obviously didn't walk away from this.  Would you believe this is what they call a single scoop. Yes, I did share it.

The Avila Barn.. Love it.

A trip to the coast would not be complete without a trip to my favorite barn to sample some of the  summers bounty. Strawberries...... check

Peaches, plums.  check.

Tomatoes,   check

I even wanted to buy this cherries sign but it was NFS.  For all you non-junkers that means Not for Sale. I did get a bit carried away.

Cute candy store.

I told this guy that would be back to "PICK" him up in November.

You know me and old blocks....they just followed me home.

Tell me you could NOT  pass this up....$10.00...

or these... FYI  if you happen to be in a store in Hanford and you see 3 yellow dishes with missing lids, and you want to buy them, you  can blame my wheeler/dealer husband . Sorry.

Is this not the cutest thing evah???  It just had to come home with me.

Apparently my sister took pickin a little to seriously and tried to PICK-UP this guy.   She does like the strong, silent type.  She must have been junk drunk also.

Lemons, blueberries, and one BIG (happy) mess.

If a messy kitchen is a happy kitchen, then mine must be DELERIOUS.
What you don't see is 2 mixing bowls, 3 measuring spoons, and a spatula, 2 cups of blueberries, and 2 loaf pans. Can't you just see this kitchen overflowing with happiness?  From this happiness came 2 very happy loaves of bread.

Lemon Blueberry bread.  Delicious beyond belief.

The mess was totally worth it and my kitchen has never been happier.

Grammas Umbrella

Cleaning out some old photos yesterday I came across this.  Just had to post it.  Micah loved my way cute umbrella.  I bought it from a flea market at the home of Susan Branch (yes, I am a name dropper.)

Cute huh?

The sunglasses and umbrella you ask?  Well, when you are as cool as he is the sun shines all the time.

What's not to love about the 4th of July?

A day we celebrate this great nation we live in. Anyone who knows me, knows that I decorate for most all holidays. There is almost nothing any cuter than fourth of July things.  I cannot think of a better reason, other than Christmas to celebrate.

God bless America,

Land that I love;

Stand beside her, and guide her,

through the night, with a light, from above.

MY HOME, SWEET HOME.
